According to paragraph 5 of the Regulations for declaring the strictly protected and protected species of wild plants, animals and fungi, species designated as protected are those species that are not currently threatened by becoming extinct or critically endangered. This includes vulnerable, endemic, indicator, key and umbrella species, as well as relic species and those of international importance and under international protection. Also included in this group are the species that can easily be mistaken for the strictly protected species due to their appearance.
