Boletus rhodoxanthus (Krombh.) Kallenb.
Fruit body: cap up to 20 cm, fleshy, rounded then expanded, at first slimy, later matted, whitish-ochraceous with pink hues, especially towards margin. Tubes are first yellowish then olive, slowly blueing when bruised; pores are small, yellow then red, blueing when touched. Stem is up to 18x8 cm, at first clavate then cylindrical, bright yellow, covered with red reticulum the whole length.
Microscopy: spores subfusiform, 12-16x5-6 μm, brown-olive en masse.
Flesh: chrome yellow, red at stem base, faintly blueing when cut, without distinct smell and taste.
Habitat: season summer and autumn under deciduous trees, on calcareous terrains.
Edibility: inedible, maybe even poisonous.
